I am so grateful for specific days dedicated to dads and parenthood. I know everyday is mothers and fathers day, but sometimes us kids have tendencies to take for granted our parents and the love it takes to be one. We forget that the parents we have are gifts from the best parent there is. So happy fathers day Heaven Dad. If you created my mom and dad in a fraction of your image and they love a fraction of how much you love me and each of your children, I am blown away by the amount of love that demonstrates. I feel that a problem we all have in believing how great God is and how big he loves us is only measured by His sacrifice of His son. That is an amazing display of His love, but what about the little things. Like when you graduate or start a new season of adulting. Even the things that are not congratulatory like you need to remember which side of the jumper cables go where for your car or need help on doctor’s visits and how to cook. Even when you just call your parents because you want to talk. God created the people for these moments. He also lives in these moments and is blessed when any second a parent loves their child in any way. That is a good dad. So happy fathers day to the original who created my dad and the way he specifically loves me and my sister. Thank you God, you did good.

Even those who might not have the best father situations, the hope is that you learn more about your Heaven dad. The closer you grow and walk with Him the closer you are to learning what love actually looks like and how you can now redeem that specific father love in your family to come. The hope is that God and His love will never change. It can be expressed by His shadows of father figures all over the world, but in no way limited by their abilities and histories.

As I am preparing for my trip and this next chapter I really needed this reminder today. Even though I leave one family for a year, I still travel with my Dad. I have this great opportunity to love so many of His children and learn from the best. All while blessing and learning to be a good daughter while abroad. I need to stop looking at this trip away from the people I love, but learning to love more and better in ways only a father can teach his daughter. I am so grateful for the example of love God has shown me through my own parents. I am so excited to bring the generous and serving brand of love that is specific to the Corrigan’s. Also to bring back and share about the other factions of God’s love as expressed through His family as we travel the nations.

So happy fathers day, God.

Thank you for the way you love.
